Very are leading the way with their witty TV advert, launched this month, giving you the very best excuse to start shopping early. We like their style! Not only is the ad impactful due to its timing but overall, online spending has risen by 18% to £64bn in the year to date – 56% versus the same period pre-pandemic, in 2019. It had therefore been predicted that the ‘holiday shopping season would begin well before Halloween – and Very are certainly bucking that trend.
Halloween, Black Friday/Cyber weekend, Christmas promotions and Boxing Day sales they’ll all be here before we know it – and with in-store, supply chain and logistical uncertainties, retailers are keen to kick-off their 2021 festive season efforts earlier. So now is the time to plan ahead and make sure you’re ahead of the game with competition as high as it’s ever been in the online shopping world. Christmas 2020 was extremely tough for businesses of all kinds so it’s no wonder brands are set to ramp up their promotions even earlier than usual this year.
