Visual Identity wins an international award and global acclaim

Posted by Jacqui on 20th January 2017

The 2016 International Visual Identity Awards are the world’s most comprehensive and independent visual identity competition with entries permitted from all countries worldwide.

The awards have had a very successful year, with record entries from 25 countries across 6 continents, from a broad range of agencies, individual designers and corporates.

VI’s submission was in the Financial Services category. More than just a logo, the brand development included a number of examples of application across a variety of items, displayed as part of a new visual identity system. Created for a UK industry body in the venture capital industry, with more than 600 member firms, they provide market intelligence, technical updates and specialist training to their membership.

The Problem

They have a well-recognised existing brand and logo. As with many membership organisations, they struggled to give structure to their key areas of business and products. The product portfolio had evolved over time and as a result, messaging was difficult to identify and messy. They wanted to develop their core brand structure that allowed each product channel to be identifiable with for sub-branding and key messaging for a myriad of individual products.

The Solution

Using hand drawn icons unique to the client and an updated colour palette, we delivered a complex development of their existing brand to allow for sub-brands and content organisation. This gives a fresh, modern addition to the existing brand. It also offered flexibility as the core elements could be bolted or extruded according to the requirement or use.

The Results

Whilst this brand development project hasn’t fully launched yet across all collateral — it has allowed the client to structure their content and core messages clearly. The website launched in January 2017 and makes for a prominent stage for the brand’s first outing. Take a look at the winners and their wonderful work. Visual Identity Creative Ltd is very proud to be amongst such a good company.
